Reveal Traces of the Maker
Ridgeline
Shadowcast
Strokes
| New York, NY - November 13, 2022 | Introducing “Traces” – inspired by artisanal craft, touch of the hand, texture, and movement, Wolf-Gordon's newest wallcovering series is comprised of three unique patterns: Ridgeline, Shadowcast and Strokes. Color is introduced in a muted, harmonious manner with soft, contrasting values of neutral shades, pastels, charcoal and shades of blue. “Traces” reveals characteristics of the maker and the process of creation.
“These new patterns add an element of craft with painterly notes and a tonal colorline, providing dimension and sophistication to our Contract Wallcovering collection.”
- Marybeth Shaw, Chief Creative Officer, Marketing & Design
Wallcoverings
Ridgeline, a wallcovering with layers of translucent torn paper arranged in a horizontal orientation suggests an expansive mountainous landscape in this large-scale design. Aligning across adjoining panels, any noticeable seams are avoided, drawing the eye around a room. Color is introduced in a muted, cohesive manner with soft, contrasting values of neutral shades, charcoal, and aquamarine, printed on a canvas texture.
Shadowcast, a wallcovering design with origins in the manual traces of a masonry trowel, is a small-scale, highly architectural finish complemented by a ripple-textured embossing that casts slight shadows, emphasizing the verticality of the design. With the tracks of the trowel marks creating a subtle horizontal banding, the wallcovering can be hung with a straight match. Nuanced grays ranging from “Salt” to “Iron”, beige and brown tones, ocean blues, “Charcoal”, and a vivid “Evergreen” provide a generous palette.
Strokes, a wallcovering with painterly brushstrokes that seem to fade in and out of focus, transmits a soothing movement across the wall. In the background, thin horizontal lines that intersect at irregular intervals offer a counterbalance. A refined textile embossing with vertical lines that float up and down adds a kinetic quality to the pattern. The 13 colorways include a variety of tinted grays, rosy-toned neutrals, bright “Emerald”, and several shades of blue.
Made in the USA, these Type II wallcoverings are free of conflict minerals, heavy metals, PFC/PFOA/PFOS and phthalates.
