Marybeth Shaw,
Chief Creative Officer, Marketing & Design

Marybeth Shaw leads all aspects of product design and marketing for the commercial interior finishes company, Wolf-Gordon, as Creative Chief Officer. When she started with the company as creative director in 1997, she spearheaded a licensed design program with then-emerging designers such as Karim Rashid, Petra Blaisse and Laurinda Spear and garnered recognition for the company in major media outlets through her work. Prior to her position at Wolf-Gordon, she worked for Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects, Richard Meier & Partners Architects, Formica Corporation and The Architectural League Of New York.

In 2004, Marybeth founded Shaw Jelveh Design, an award-winning studio that helped over 50 private and nonprofit clients to improve their image and increase their revenues through Marybeth’s “branding by design” strategies.  The commercial design companies she rebranded and designed products lines include Cambridge Architectural Mesh, Stone Source, Moore & Giles, and Veritas.

Since she returned to Wolf-Gordon in 2011, Marybeth has continued to lead advancements in new identity design by crafting an innovative website and overseeing conceptual, award-winning installations. As a key partner on the company’s Strategic Planning Team, Marybeth has had an environmentally conscious approach to design that has changed the industry, initiating a transparency and sustainability program—the wallcovering industry’s first—that is now essential to interior health and wellness issues.

Leading up to and during the company’s 50th anniversary, Marybeth oversaw a long campaign that celebrated Wolf-Gordon’s legacy in the industry. These initiatives include the design vision and publication of Wolf-Gordon: Sample Book, a fifty year retrospective on wallcovering design, the opening of new New York City headquarters which she project managed with the beloved architecture firm, Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis, and their sixth consecutive year of pop-up installations at NeoCon, with the experimental entrance installation Folio

Marybeth is a LEED Accredited Professional in Interior Design and Construction and holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Ecole d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville, a Master’s degree in City Planning from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an Executive MBA from NYU Stern, and a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Smith College. She holds three design patents in the United States and the European Union and is a member of the AIGA and the Architectural League of New York.

Marybeth Shaw is passionate about design, and helping young creatives gain professional experience as interns in her studio. Outside of the office, she is a francophile and francophone, loves architectural tourism, skiing and hanging out with her family.
