Thomas Cooper Studio Debuts at ICFF 2023
Third Lighting Brand from East LA Designers Jason Kai Cooper and Sally Thomas Cooper
| Los Angeles, CA - May 1, 2023 | Thomas Cooper Studio, a new lighting brand from East LA designers Jason Kai Cooper and Sally Thomas Cooper, will debut new collections to the architecture and design community at ICFF 2023 (booth 1316). Offering hand-wrought, sculptural works made in heritage techniques from honest materials, Thomas Cooper Studio joins their existing lighting brands Lusive, custom fixtures for hospitality environments, and LUXE Light and Home for residential settings.
“We are excited to relaunch Thomas Cooper Studio at ICFF,” said Jason Kai Cooper. “Thomas Cooper Studio is the greatest expression of our work and a natural extension of our existing lighting brands, and we look forward to introducing our most art-forward, refined creations to the design community.”
Thomas Cooper Studio will join Lusive and LUXE Light and Home in the company’s East Los Angeles headquarters and manufacturing facility. The Coopers have been designing and manufacturing lighting fixtures since 1999, and have become known for their unique designs and quality craftsmanship.
“We are passionate about creating beautiful, functional lighting fixtures that are designed to last,” said Sally Thomas Cooper. “We look forward to bringing our collective vision to life through Thomas Cooper Studio.”
New concepts debuting from Thomas Cooper Studio at ICFF 2023 include:
Disco - Organic meets angular. Hand cast textured glass blossoms rest in solid antique brass branches, scattering a graceful confetti of light.
Fonda - Brilliantly colored slabs, capturing the magic of the ancient process of Murrina Millefiori Murano glass – admire their reflection in frames of narcissistic nickel.
Marchesa - Spiked double glass cones in the ancient Rostarto style sparkle on the modern arms of bold brushed brass with machined details.

About Thomas Cooper Studio
Creative partners Sally Thomas Cooper and Jason Kai Cooper, long known for fresh, modern lighting for home and hospitality through their ventures Luxe and Lusive, founded Thomas Cooper Studio to explore the material and sculptural essence of lighting.
The Thomas Cooper Studio collection represents a multilayered, multifaceted collaboration between Jason and Sally. Materials and techniques join forces in a search for the inner poetry of each piece: heat-formed, mouth-blown, flash-cracked glass; carved marble, alabaster, and natural stone; cast and hand-patinaed bronze; hand-polished, leaded crystal. At the same time, a study of sculptural expression creates a balance between shine and shade, density and delicacy, form and function.
Sally Thomas Cooper studied art history, music, and design in her native New Zealand and has worked as an interior designer, production designer, and marketing director for interior products. Jason Kai Cooper studied scenic and lighting design and has worked as a lighting, theatrical, and product designer. The couple have worked together since 1999 and hold Thomas Cooper Studio as the culmination of their shared design passions.
Models in the collection are individually hand-crafted by the skilled artisans in our studio. Custom versions tailored to a specific setting are available by commission.
