AIMÉE WILDER SHOWCASES WALLPAPER AT VITRA FOR NYCxDESIGN 2018

New York, NY - May 15, 2018 | For NYCxDesign 2018, Aimée Wilder is working with Vitra to create the backdrop for six New York City inspired residential concepts in the renowned Swiss company’s showroom. The five week installation, running from May 19th to June 24th, will show a selection of Wilder's designs in vignetted "apartments" capturing the diversity of New York City neighborhoods and lifestyles that range from an industrial Williamsburg waterfront to a midtown Manhattan high rise.

Wilder’s classics like Analog Nights will appear in tandem with new hits such as Mushroom City from her recent Bun Voyage collection and Cactus Spirit in an eye-catching new Rosegold colorway, complementing the renowned Swiss company's furnishings. Wilder’s muted hues and warm metallics display a masterful use of color that enhances each environment, playing into Vitra’s underlying themes for the spaces.

Patterns:

Piña Sola: Piña Sola welcomes visitors with a tropical flare; the designer’s beloved pineapple motif in the muted Mist tone is the perfect touch of hospitality for Vitra’s TriBeCa Loft concept. It’s graphic edge lends itself to Vitra’s idea of a graphic designer’s studio in the hip neighborhood.

Colorway: Mist

Analog Nights: This best-selling wallpaper is inspired by sound, featuring cassette tapes, CDs, stereos, and speakers of all kinds. A musical detail in Vitra’s Williamsburg Waterfront Apartment, the pattern’s modern ode to audio fits the cool, masculine vibe.

Colorway: Silver Cloud

Mamma: This oversized, sexy 60's geometric adds mod flair to any space. A hint of retro chic in Vitra’s Union Square Flat display, the pattern proves flexible and impactful in the compact space.

Colorway: Glimmer

Cactus Spirit: This dimensional wallpaper gives a taste of the Southwest with a graphic, oversized cactus repeat. The chic, metallic glow of the new Rosegold colorway warms up Vitra’s Cobble Hill Walk-up concept and invites guests to bask in the warm, desert sun.

Colorway: Rosegold

Mushroom City: Featuring a mixture of mushrooms growing wild, this cool pattern unifies the natural and the manmade by reflecting a cityscape in the fungi’s varying heights. Providing a sophisticated link to nature in Vitra’s Battery Park Urban Suburban apartment, the wallpaper’s soft tone is the ideal backdrop to the bold turquoise and purples popping up in the furnishings.

Colorway: Cava

Cosmic Splash: Awash with movement and energy, this textural pattern conjures the cosmos in motion. Adding interstellar beauty to Vitra’s Midtown High Rise concept, the subtle gray colorway is an elegant and dynamic choice for the textural apartment.

Colorway: Luna

Vitra’s showroom installation runs from Saturday, May 19th to Sunday, June 24th, and is located at 100 Gansevoort St, New York, NY 10014. Wilder’s wallpapers will be on display over the entire course of the installation.
