Venus Williams and V Starr Interiors
To Participate In 2nd Annual Design On A Dime Miami
| West Palm Beach, FL - February, 2017 | Venus Williams, in conjunction with her interior design firm V Starr Interiors, participated in Housing Works’ 2nd annual Design On A Dime Miami. The fundraiser, which took place this month in Miami’s Design District, was established with the goal of ending AIDS in the US through the sale of donated merchandise found within one-of-a-kind room vignettes. V Starr Interiors’ “split-personality” themed vignette was among the top five highest grossing designs, and Venus Williams served as Honorary Chair for the event.
Venus brought to the role a passion for charitable projects backed by extensive experience, from contributions to Lotus House Shelter to opening Yetunde Price Resource Center for violence victims with sister Serena. “I always love to support a great cause,” Venus says, “especially when it’s related to design.”
Opposites attract in V Starr Interiors’ vignette design, which is split down the middle with one side that is fun and whimsical, packed with lively orange and fuschia, while the other is cool and subdued with sophisticated teals and blues. For the project, which was led by Sonya Haffey (V Starr Interiors Design Director) and Michelle Koppelman (Project Designer), the V Starr Interiors team collaborated with some of their most frequent partners. Roche Bobois donated statement pieces, including a taupe Mayflower Armchair and SISMIC Cocktail and side table. V Starr also collaborated with Arteriors, which provided a substantial 23 piece donation, including a pair of Zanadoo Small Chandeliers that add unify the space with extra punch and a taste of retro flair.
Other partners include, Surya, which donated throw pillows to top the Andrea Chair by Go Home Ltd., while Interface provided carpet tiles to line the floors. For the walls, Benjamin Moore provided the paint that will be overlayed with Eykon wallpaper and Kalisher prints.
