AIMÉE WILDER LAUNCHES SHADOW WILDLING, HER VERY OWN LINE OF ART

| New York, NY - May 12, 2022 | Multidisciplinary artist, designer, photographer, and founder of her eponymous brand of wallpapers, tiles, and home textiles, Aimée Wilder presents Shadow Wildling, a new series of large-format silk-screened art works. This debut fine art edition draws inspiration from Wilder’s textile design background to explore tessellation, positive/negative space, mathematics, fractal dragon curves, and nuanced color relationships.

These new paintings reverse the usual role of patterned designs within interior spaces. Rather than an all-over application of patterned wallpaper, which fills the space floor to ceiling, each Shadow Wildling work distills a pattern onto the single plane of a large painting, intended to create the perfect focal point for contemporary interiors.

Aimée Wilder shares, “My goal was to create something that lives in a more minimal and modern environment with materials such as marble, leather, or cement while allowing the art to stand out, with more conversational pieces that play with pattern, texture and feel.”

Shadow Wildling works are printed on the second largest screen available, on a fine canvas material that was recommended by master printer Luther Davis who has printed art with more than 80 artists. All prints are 4’ wide and up to 67” tall. The backgrounds are printed prior to being stretched at 5” larger than the intended size, and are then dried overnight for the foregrounds to be printed the following day. These prints are modern, minimal, and fresh making them worthy of any interior.
